What it is
Voice over Internet Protocol (pronounced voyp) is a way of making phone calls using a broadband connection instead of a normal telephone line. The most famous usage of VoIP is Skype, which is a free software which facilitates the making and answering of calls. The disadvantages of Skype is that both parties have to have Skype accounts, and both have to be logged onto a computer and signed in to be able to make or receive calls.

What we do
1st Line Communications can offer you many different solutions to take advantage of VoIP and the cost savings it brings.

For example, if you have 2 phone lines and they're constantly being used, you might be losing customers who don't ring back! You can utilise your broadband connection and instantly create 2 extra phone lines, whose rates are approximately 80% cheaper than BT call rates.

Moving Offices?
If you have spent hundreds or even thousands of pounds marketing your business, the last thing you want is to have to spend even more money changing all your stationary and adverts when you move addresses and your phone number changes. What a SIP trunk can offer is "number porting" where you can keep your existing number by "porting" it through a SIP server, which gets redirected to your new number. Your customers will never know the difference!
